The hotel’s location offers immediate access to the erupting Strokkur geyser and the walking trails that wind through the valley’s steaming vents and hot spring pools.

Day 2: Golden Circle, Geysers, and Geothermal Lagoons

Today you’ll explore Iceland’s geothermal heart, beginning with a private Golden Circle tour. Begin at Þingvellir National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site where you can walk between the North American and Eurasian tectonic plates and visit the nearby Öxarárfoss waterfall.

Continue to Efstidalur Farm for homemade organic ice cream with views toward Mount Hekla, then explore the Geysir geothermal area to watch Strokkur erupt every few minutes. From there, visit Gullfoss, one of Iceland’s most powerful waterfalls, before stopping at Kerið, an ancient volcanic crater known for its vivid slopes and calm blue water.

In the afternoon, get your adrenaline up with a snowmobile excursion in the highlands, which is an unforgettable way to experience Iceland’s wide-open landscapes. End the day with a relaxing visit to Laugarás Lagoon, a two-level geothermal pool overlooking the Hvítá River, complete with cold-plunge options and elegant saunas.

Day 3: Waterfalls, ATV Riding, and Journey to Vik

Head down the South Coast with your private guide, a region known for black-sand beaches, dramatic cliffs, incredible waterfalls, and glacier views. Visit the jet-black sands of Reynisfjara, the coastal village of Vík í Mýrdal, and the 120-meter rock arch of Dyrhólaey. Along the way, stop at two of Iceland’s most celebrated waterfalls: Seljalandsfoss and Skógafoss.

From a basecamp near the roots of the Mýrdalsjökull glacier, set out on ATVs across the black lava plains shaped by past floods from the Katla volcano. Cross shallow rivers, take in views of the glacier and coastline, and visit the famous plane wreck on Sólheimasandur.

Finally, experience the Icelandic Lava Show, where molten lava is poured into the room, allowing you to safely see, hear, and feel the heat of an eruption up close. Continue to your hotel in Vik for the next two nights.

Set out on a day trip east from Vík toward Jökulsárlón, stopping for a glacier hike on Vatnajökull along the way. With your guide, step onto the ice to learn about the glacier’s geology and ever-changing surface. Features like moulins, crevasses, and ash layers shift throughout the year, offering a close look at how Iceland’s glaciers move and evolve.

Continue to Jökulsárlón Glacier Lagoon for a one-hour Zodiac boat tour, where you’ll skim across Iceland’s deepest lake and get as close as safely possible to the floating icebergs. It’s an exciting way to experience the scale of the lagoon and its surrounding glacier walls.

The ride lasts one to two hours and offers a fun way to experience the region’s active landscape.

After biking, explore Raufarhólshellir, one of Iceland’s longest and best-known lava tunnels. Walk through the colorful rock formations left behind by ancient eruptions while equipped with helmets, lights, and sturdy footwear. The temperature inside the cave remains around 0–4°C year-round.
